William Fritze Dies at 77

Allen -- Wiliam J Fritze Sr., 77 of 659 Jonesville Road, dies Wednesday in the Hillsdale Community Health Center following an illness of a year.

Mr. Fritze had worked for Dord Motor Company for 30 years, and retired in 1962.

On Aug. 6, 1897, he was born in Strong City, Kans., the son of William J and Helena (Wefel) Fritze.

A former Detroit resident, he was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hillsdale; the Allen American Legion Post 538; and was a Navy verteran of World War I.

On July 6, 1936 he married Florence B Mehring in Farmington. She survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Marian) Piette of Detroit, Mrs. Francis (Florence) Meade of Quincy, Mrs. George (Judith) Richards of Jackson, Mrs. Jeffry (Carolyn) Blocher of Alamogardo, N.M.; four sons, John J. Trombley of North Adams, Clifford F. Trombley of Ann Arbor, Clark J. Trombley of Ann Arbor and William J. Fritze III of Allen; a bother Martin of Albuquerque, N.M.; 41 grand-children and eight great-randchildren.

The funeralservice is set for 3:30p.m. Saturday in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hillsdale with the Rev. Edwin J. Carey officiating.

Freinds may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and until noon Saturday in the Beebe-Putnam Funeral Home, Jonesville.

Interment will be in the Allen Cemetery.
