Our present pastor, Rev. Philip M Fritze, was born in Baltimore, Md., Dec. 29, 1853. He received his classical eductaion at the Concordia College in Ft. Wayne, Ind., and, having completed his course there, entered Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Mo. in 1875 to study theology. August 18th, 1878, he was ordained as pastor of the German Evangelical Lutheran Trinity Congregation of Hobart, Ind. On the 24th of September he married Miss Emelie Chr. Grosse, daughter of the late teacher Grosse in St. Louis, Mo. Having received a call from our congregation in January, 1882, he accepted the call and, on the 17th of February, was introduced as our pastor by Rev. G. Mohr. [10] |
