Anna N. Schroeder, 96, of New Richland died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at the New Richland Care Center.

Born Aug. 17, 1913, in Waseca County, Minn. she was the daughter of Herman and Ida (Lucht) Suemnick. She attended school in rural Waseca County. Anna married Alfred Schroeder on Sept. 28, 1933, at the bride's home in Wilton Township, Waseca County. Together they lived and farmed in Byron Township for many years before moving to New Richland. Anna enjoyed cooking, gardening, baking and antiques. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church-Wilton in Waseca County.

She is survived by one daughter, Rosalie Gehring of Waseca; one son, Gordon and Sandy Schroeder of Owatonna; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one grandson; one brother, Walter Suemnick.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church-Wilton in Waseca County with Rev. Glenn Korb officiating. Burial followed at St. Peter's Cemetery in New Richland.
