Fritze 75, of Enfield, CT loving husband of Virginia (Hosegood) Fritze entered into Eternal Rest on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at home with his loving family by his side. Rene was born March 24, 1936, in Worcester, MA the son of the late August and Vida (Thibodeau) Fritze. Rene owned and operated RJ Fritze Painting and Wallpapering for many years and prior to that tended bar at the Mountain Laurel Restaurant, Smyth Plantation Restaurant both in Enfield and the Willow Glen Restaurant in East Longmeadow, MA. Rene was an avid golfer and New York Yankee fan who enjoyed nothing more than to be with friends and family. In addition to his wife Virginia he is survived by his four children, Kevin Fritze and his wife Michelle of Enfield, Dawn Lovari and her husband Michael of West Islip, NY, Michael Fritze and his wife Mary of Windsor Locks and Nancy Fritze and her fianc Joseph Gamba of NY; 11 grandchildren, Amber, Phillip, Justin, Nicolette, Hannah, Elizabeth, Justin, Alyssa, Ashley and Amanda, four great grandchildren, Preston, Jackson, Katrina and Connor; many nieces, nephews, cousins and his close friends, William and Judith Bowes of Oxford, MA. He was predeceased by two brothers, William and Leo Fritze and a sister Virginia Clark. Calling hours for relatives and friends will be on Friday, December 2, 2011, from 5-8 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd, Enfield. Funeral services for Rene will be celebrated on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 10 am at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels. Burial will follow in St. Patricks King St, Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Rene may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045 or to the Visiting Nurse & Health Services of Connecticut, Inc, 8 Keynote Drive, Vernon, Connecticut 06066. |

Virginia is survived by her four children, Kevin Fritze and his wife Michelle of Enfield, Dawn Lovari and her husband Michael of West Islip, NY, Michael Fritze and his wife Mary of Windsor Locks and Nancy Fritze and her fianc Joseph Gamba of New York,NY; 11 grandchildren, Amber, Phillip, Justin, Nicolette, Hannah, Elizabeth, Justin, Alyssa, Ashley and Amanda, five great grandchildren, Preston, Jackson, Katrina, Connor and Jayden, a brother, Richard Hosegood and his wife, Lorraine of Florida, good friends William and Judy Bowes of MA and Jennifer Rice of Enfield, neighbors Loretta and Rich Davenport, Diane and Mike Mozes, and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was predeceased by a brother, William Hosegood and four sisters, Joan Bruce, Muriel Walsh, Marilyn Morton and Carol Daigneault.
