BERKELEY, June 1 -- Last rites will be conducted on Monday for Fred Carl Fritze, 70, retired garage owner, who died on Friday at a local hospital.

Born in Iowa, Mr. Fritze, who lived at 2125 Channing Way, had made his home in Berkeley for 25 years. He was a member of Berkeley Lodge of Elks.

Surviving is his wife, Lydia. The Rev. Philip Ellman, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, will conduct services at 1:30 p.m. at The Little Chapel of the Flowers, Adeline St. at Ashby Station, with concluding rites at Sunset Masoleum.
