Another Home Saddened By Death Of Mother

Mrs. Amos Springer Called Suddenly - Other Homes In Community Visited By Grim Messenger

Mrs. Amos Springer, a young mother of this community, passed away at her home Thursday, Sept. 26, 1929, after only a week's illness, death being due to a hemorrhage of the lungs.

Maud Anna, daughter of George and Emma Geyer, was born at Bassett, Iowa, March 20, 1896, and was called to the Great Beyond Thursday, Sept. 26, 1929, at the age of 33 years, 6 months and 6 days.

On July 12, 1912, she was married to Amos Springer at Charles City, Iowa. She was the mother of eight children, namely, Marie, Gale, Darrold, Bernard, Lyle, Leonard, Amos Jr., and Duane, baby Duane being born Sept. 18, 1929, and only living a few hours.

She leaves to mourn her passing besides these seven children her husband, her father, George Geyer, her mother having preceded her in death a few years ago, and her grandfather Joseph Watts, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

She was a faithful member of the Catholic church at Ionia and served her Master well until His summons came. She made a brave fight to live as she knew her husband and family needed her, but God knows best.

Oh, we'll miss the wife and mother, Always true and kind and fair; Being safely now with Jesus - For there is no night up there. In the land of God's perfection Rests our mother's soul today. We will see her through God's promise When the mists have rolled away.

The funeral was held from the Catholic church in Charles City on Monday, Sept. 30 at 10 am, Rev. C.B. Goetzinger of Ionia officiating and burial was in Riverview cemetery at Charles City.
