Kaspar Sr., 92, formerly of Prague, died May 2, 2005 at South Haven in Wahoo. Funeral services were held May 7 at 11 a.m. at Kucera Funeral Home in Prague. Visitation was held May 6 from 2-6 p.m. and May 7 from 9:30 a.m. until time of service, at the funeral home. Kaspar was born Aug. 7, 1912, near Prague, to Vaclav and Magdalena (Sedlacek) Kaspar. He graduated from Prague High School and farmed south of Prague for many years. On June 10, 1933, he married Emily Kucera in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After farming, he preformed a wide variety of services in work and as a community volunteer. Among his accomplishments, he was an agent for Mobil Oil for 36 years; he was a Prague volunteer fireman; a member of Prague Commercial Club; Prague Town Board, three terms; Prague Community Band; Prague School District 104 treasurer for 30 years; was past president of Prague Western Fraternal Life Association; past president of Prague National Cemetery, Prague; a school bus driver for 15 years; worked at Lincoln Wards Store, four years. Lincoln Bankers Life, two years; and City of Lincoln handyman, two years. He loved all Nebraska sports and rarely missed a home football game. He is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Mrs. Roy) Valentine, Lincoln; one son, Tom (Joann), Omaha; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death y his parents; his wife who died May 7, 2003; six brothers, Jim, Charley, Leonard, Frank, George and Victor; and one sister Zdenka Kaspar. The family suggests memorials to the Prague National Cemetery. |
