Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Koterba (nee Vahey), age 80 of St. Louis, MO, peacefully passed surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 25, 2017. She was born on March 30, 1936 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of the late William and Alberta (nee Fritze) Vahey. Elizabeth was retired from the St. Louis County WIC program. She was passionate about baking and cooking for family and friends, took pleasure in tending to her flowers and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She also enjoyed traveling including trips to Hawaii, Ireland, Jamaica and a safari in Kenya. Elizabeth was an extremely caring person who frequently put others needs before her own. She will be greatly missed by all.
Elizabeth was the beloved mother of Stephen J. Koterba, Kenneth E. Koterba, Laura A. Koterba-Buss, Linda Marie (Del) King and Raymond M. Koterba; cherished aunt of Danny Vahey; dearest grandma of Brandy (Bob) Reese, Kory King, Krystal King, Catherine Koterba, Michael Koterba and Rachael Koterba; dear sister of Timothy Vahey, Daniel Vahey and the late William Vahey, Thomas Vahey, Donald Vahey, Marion Topp, George Vahey, Sally Vahey and Richard Vahey; our dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend; devoted owner of her dogs, Zeina and Kolby and champion of all family pets.
Services: Visitation at SHEPARD FUNERAL CHAPEL, 9255 Natural Bridge Road at I-170, St. Louis, MO (314-426-6000) on Thursday, March 30 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service also at SHEPARD FUNERAL CHAPEL on Friday, March 31 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5200 Lucas & Hunt Road, Normandy, MO.
