[3] BROWN - Funeral services for former Columbus resident Harry Craig Brown, 650 __ Clinton, Denver, Colo., are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Gass-Haney Chapel. Rev. Lee Hicks will be officiating; interment in Columbus Cemetery with Masonic and Military graveside services. Mr. Brown, 82, died Tuesday in Cherry Creek Nursing Center in Aurora, Colo. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday at Gass-Haney Funeral Home. He was born Nov. 14, 1896 at Columbus to Ellis G. and Rosa Belle (Phillips) Brown and attended Columbus High School. He lived at Columbus until 1965 when he moved to Denver. He was employed by the Union Pacific from 1916 to 1960. He was married to Helen Cherny on April 27, 1929 at Liberty, Mo., who preceded him in death on May 23, 1979. He was a member of the Navy Submarine Service, serving in World War I. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Railway, Steamship and Airline Clerks, Hartma [sic] Post of American Legion, Lebanon Lodge 323 AF and AM, 32nd Degree Mason, and Knights Templar. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Mary Brown O'Dell of Aurora, Colo., Marjorie Brown Sellers, Littleton, Colo., and John Cherny Brown of San Francisco, Calif.; six grandchildren; five brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ruth Grimes and Mrs. Clara Kluck of Columbus, Mrs. Helen Dover, Lighthouse Point, Fla., Ellis Brown of Omaha and J. Brown of Alexandria, Va. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters, Cora Lisko, Bennett, Colo., Ralph of Omaha, Carroll of Dallas, Tex., George and Howard, both of Columbus.
