La Crosse Woman Dies at Age 103

LA CROSSE, Wis --(AP)-- Mrs. Fredericka Koschnitzke--the oldest resident in La Crosse and one of the oldest in the state--died here today. She was 103.

"Grandma," as she was known by her friends, became ill last Wednesday. On Monday she called in her friends because she thought she "wouldn't be around much longer." At 6:30 a.m. today she quietly passed away.

Mrs. Koschnitzke was born in Lippedepmult, Germany, in 1847. When she was six, she came with her parents to this country aboard a sailing vessel.

She is survived by a sister, who is 93 and lives in Santa Monica, Calif., and four children.
