Edith C Babione

Edith C. Babione, 84, a long-time resident of the Philomath area and mother of eleven children, died Monday at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Union Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Adams officiating McHenry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Babione, Star Route 2, Philomath, was born Oct. 11, 1898, at Nashua, Iowa, where she was reared and received her schooling. In 1916, she married Frank Fritze in Iowa, where they made their home for many years. She later lived in Wyoming and South Dakota and came to Oregon in 1948.

She married Percy F Babione Oct. 11, 1948, in Corvallis. The couple took up residence at the Star Route 2 home. Mr. Babione died Jult 10, 1974.

Mrs. Babione was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and active in Philomath Senior Citizens.

She is survived by two sons, Roy Fritze of Nashua, and Charlie Fritze of Minneapolis, Minn.; six daughters, Frances Baur and Nadine Pierce of Nashua, Arlene Fritze of Ionia, Iowa, Roma Springer of Anoka, Minn., Yvonne Pearce of Mondale, Iowa, Dolores Ernst of Solon, Iowa; 30 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren. Two sons and a daughter preceded her in death.
