Jack Fritze Stricken

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday from the United Methodist church in Nashua for John L (Jack) Fritze, who died May 22. A family prayer hour was held at 11 a.m. at the Chenoweth Funeral Home.

The Rev. Harvey Walker conducted the funeral and burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Donald Lodge was soloist and Mrs. Donald Shepard was organist. Flowers were in charge of the Mmes. Weston Blunt and Don Krambeer.

Casket bearers were Weston Blunt, John Krull, Don Krambeer, Earl Thompson, Wilbur Huffman and Lloyd Van Horn.

JOHN LUDWIG Fritze was born December 23, 1919, the son of Mr. Mrs. Charlie Fritze. He died on May 22, 1969, at the Floyd county hospital in Charles City, after a hospitalization of 33 days for a heart condition which he had had for the past 11 years.

He was raised and schooled in the Nashua area. He then worked as a farm hand until united in marriage to Miss Carol Stufflebeam on August 22, 1940.

HE THEN WORKED as a foreman in a steel mill in Chicago, until moving to Charles City, where he worked for the Oliver Corporation. He was an assembly line supervisor for 17 years, and also was engaged in farming north of Charles City. Due to failing health, he retired from the Oliver in 1958, and later from farming also.

In recent years, he had been associated with automobile sales promotion. In his last few years, Jack's special hobbies have been huntin and fishing.

To Jack and Carol Fritze were born two daughters and two sons: Judy, now Mrs. Fred Junker of Waterloo; Patty, now Mrs. Larry Cross of Cedar Falls; Jack, Jr. of Aurora, Ill.; and Billy, who is still living at home.

Roy Fritze of Nashua was a brother.
