As Josephine McCrellis, Mrs. Baily was born January 3, 1857, in Paris, Iowa, a daughter of Daniel and Zebudah McCrellis. She grew to young womanhood in this vicinity and was married March 10, 1881, in Laramie, Wyoming, to Joshua G. Baily. In 1889 Mr. and Mrs. Baily returned to Iowa with their family. They lived for a number of years on the Blodgett farm west of Central City. About 27 years ago they retired from the farm and moved to town.

Mrs. Baily and her daughter Edith Fuller were engaged for eight years in the millinery business. Mrs. Baily joined the Baptist church when a child and was an active member as long as her health permitted.

Surviving are the husband, four daughters, Mrs. Josephine Bremer of Iola, Kansas, and Mrs. Edith Fuller, Mrs. Philena Fuller and Mrs. Olive Hatfield, all of Central City: one son, Eugene, four miles west of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Mrs. Esther Butler of Hugo, Okla., and Mrs. Adellah Pike and Mrs. Isabelle Pike of Central City; and several grandchildren.

The funeral services was held in the Federated church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. C.F. Stratton in charge. Burial was made at Oak Hill cemetery.
