Mr. Snyder worked in processing commercial egg products at Seymour Foods and earlier had been a foreman in the bacon department for Morrell's. He was born Dec. 22, 1912, in Topeka, the son of Thomas Raymond and Emma L. Bryson Snyder. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1932. Mr. Snyder was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He married Helen Dorothy Fritze. She died Sept. 17, 1980. He later married Mildred Fritze Calderwood. She died Dec. 4, 2002. Survivors include a son, Brock Snyder, Berryton; a daughter, Karen Watts, Fairborn, Ohio; a stepson, Dewey Calderwood, Topeka; three stepdaughters, Carol Handy, Blue Springs, Mo., Ona Fisher, Papillion, Neb., and Pam Lister, Kansas City, Kan.; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Snyder will lie in state Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel until 9 p.m. and visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 S.W. Gage Blvd., Topeka, 66604. |
