He was born Dec. 22, 1912, in Topeka, the son of Thomas Raymond and Emma L. Bryson Snyder. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1932. Mr. Snyder was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He married Helen Dorothy Fritze. She died Sept. 17, 1980. He later married Mildred Fritze Calderwood. She died Dec. 4, 2002. Survivors include a son, Brock Snyder, Berryton; a daughter, Karen Watts, Fairborn, Ohio; a stepson, Dewey Calderwood, Topeka; three stepdaughters, Carol Handy, Blue Springs, Mo., Ona Fisher, Papillion, Neb., and Pam Lister, Kansas City, Kan.; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Snyder will lie in state Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel until 9 p.m. and visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 S.W. Gage Blvd., Topeka, 66604. |
