Fritze, of West Catasauqua, formerly of Fullerton, died Friday in Baltimore (Md.) Union Hospital after being stricken wile visiting his son, Wayne A. of Baltimore. Fritze was the husband of Margaret (Conrad) Fritze. They observed their 46th wedding anniversary in September. He was pastor emeritus and former pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, 3rd and Chestnut streets, Fullerton, for 30 years, retiring in 1979. After retiring, he served as a supply pastor at churches in Lehighton, Tamaqua and Slatington. He served his first parish at Atonement Lutheran Church, Philadelphia, for eight years. Born in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Arthur E. L. and Matilda (Jodrey) Fritze. He received his bachelor of divinity degree at Lutheran Theological Seminary, Philadelphia. A member of the board of the Whitehall Township Library, he helped initiaiate library services in the township. He was chaplain and a past president of the Whitehall Exchange Club. He received the club's Golden Deeds Award. Survivors: Wife and son; other sons, Gregory P. of Sharon, Mass., and Daryl D., at home; sister Vera, wife of Lorimer Palmer in Nova Scotia, and two grandchildren. [14] Margaret Ellen Fritze 1995 Halifax Herald Margaret Ellen Fritze, 77, Corkums Island and Whitehall, Penn., died December 20, 1995, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Minnie (Cook) Conrad. In her earlier years, she taught school in First South and later moved to Ontario and taught until she married Rev. Carroll Fritze. Following their marriage,they moved to Pennsylvania where her husband was pastor of Atonement Lutheran Church. They then moved to Whitehall where he was pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church. Over the years, she was actively involved in many aspects of church work. She was a member of the congregations of Grace Lutheran Church, First South; Zion Lutheran Church, Lunenburg; and St. John's Lutheran Church, Whitehall. Surviving are children, Darryl, Corkums Island and Whitehall; Wayne and wife Barbara, Baltimore, Md.; Gregory and wife Linda, Sharon, Mass.; sisters, Phyllis (Mrs. Fred Proudfoot), Kentville; Alice (Mrs. Robert Stalker), Ottawa; Jean (Mrs. Gerald Smith), West LaHave; brothers, Rev. Arnold Conrad, Corkums Island and Kitchener, Ont.; Rev. Arthur Conrad, Ottawa; grandchildren, Scott, Jillian. She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Carroll Fritze; sister, Alexix. Memorial service 2 p.m. Saturday in Grace Lutheran Church, First South, Rev. Douglas Moore and Rev. James Dauphinee officiating. Family burial 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.
