OBITUARY - WASECA - Adolph J. Schroeder, 89, passed away early this morning (Friday) at the Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home. He had formerly lived at 206 4th Ave. N.W.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the St. Paul Lutheran church. Rev. Edgar H. Eifert will officiate and burial will be in Woodville cemetery.
Visitation will begin Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Pfaff-Kinder Home for Funerals and continue until one o'clock Monday. There will be no viewal at the church.
He was born in Iosco township on March 12, 1880, to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schroeder. He attended the local rural schools. He worked as a telegraph operator in Northern Minnesota for a number of years. He returned to Waseca county and operated a hardware store in New Richland and then moved to Waseca to make his home. He worked for the Wilson Company in Albert Lea for many years.
On December 29, 1912, he married Laura Plath at Waseca. She passed away in 1957.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Basil (Ethel) Young of Wayzata, Mrs. K.T. (Evelyn) McHugo of Mankato, Mrs. Floyd (Beatrice) Nolte of King City, California, Mrs. I.N. (Lois) Evans of Waseca and three sons, Carl of Waseca, Raymond of Bloomington and Harold of St. Paul, 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, Harvey and Jennings and his parents.
